2026 Summer Learning Program

KCKPS is excited to offer the 2026 Summer Learning Program for students in grades K–8, with opportunities for high school students needing credit recovery.

This free program provides students with engaging learning experiences, academic support, and enrichment opportunities to help them stay on track and prepare for the upcoming school year. The program will follow a similar structure to last year and is funded through a grant from the Kansas State Department of Education.

Dates

June 1-24, Mondays through Thursdays

No Summer Learning on Tuesday, June 16, due to the World Cup activities in the KCK communities

Times

High School: 7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Middle School: 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Elementary School: 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Who Can Attend

K–8 Students: Open to all students
High School Students: Available for students needing credit recovery (contact your high school for eligibility)

Summer Learning Program Curriculum for 2026

Elementary School

Elementary school students will have the opportunity to engage in literacy, math, and science activities that reinforce grade-level skills, ensuring that students are ready for the next grade level. Students will also participate in social-emotional learning activities that build self-esteem and confidence.

Middle School

Middle school students will have the opportunity to engage in literacy and math that reinforce grade-level skills, increasing students’ readiness for the next grade level. Students will also participate in social-emotional learning activities that build self-esteem and confidence.

High School

High School students will have an opportunity to recover up to two full credits, through computerized instruction and teacher directed instruction.
