KCKPS V.I.P. (Volunteer Impact Program)
“Partnerships are essential for helping students achieve at their maximum potential and while parent and community involvement has always been a cornerstone of public schools, greater recognition and support of these collaborative efforts is needed.”
- National Center for Safe and Supportive Learning Environments
VOLUNTEERING IN OUR SCHOOLS
KCKPS offers employees and community members numerous volunteer opportunities to connect with our students and schools. For more information about individual volunteer opportunities, contact Volunteer Services unless otherwise noted. All volunteer opportunities in the Kansas City Kansas Public Schools will require an annual background check that should be completed 1-2 weeks prior to you working on a campus.
Whether you want to volunteer for a one-time event or an ongoing basis, we have several options to meet your interests. Most volunteer opportunities take place at a school campus (elementary-high school) during the school day. All volunteer opportunities are coordinated through a volunteer opportunity lead at the district or campus level. Current volunteer opportunities can be found on our website.
District or campus leaders that are interested in establishing volunteer opportunities for the 2023-2024 school year should complete the Volunteer Opportunity Request Form.
