Description:  Social Studies (grade 6) Ancient World History covers the time period from the birth of the river valley civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, India, and China to the Middle Ages in Europe. Students will examine the impact of geography on the development of civilizations. Students will draw conclusions about the significance of various civilizations and their connection to events, ideas, and culture today. The course should be rigorous and relevant with instruction that integrates thinking skills, historical processes, and content so that students are able to apply their learning to their own lives.
