Description:  This co-curricular course prepares students for a variety of academic and non-academic situations in which public speaking and performance is required.  Students will learn how to research, outline, and deliver formal and informal presentations.  The skills acquired in this class will provide a solid foundation for participating in High School Competitive Speech and Debate.  Students are expected to follow and read current events while engaging in the research writing and presentation of material for competition in debate and public speaking.  Students will also be expected to analyze fictional and non-fictional pieces to bring characters to life through speaking and/or acting skills.  Through this course, students may also have the opportunity to participate in extracurricular Competitive Speech and Debate.
