Parents as Teachers

Parents as Teachers is an early-learning program for parents with children birth to age 3.
Your baby was born to learn.
What is the Parents as Teachers Program?
Parents as Teachers (PAT) is an early childhood home-visiting program that supports families from the prenatal stage through age 5 or kindergarten entry.

Enrollment Requirements:
To help families receive the full benefit of the program, enrollment is available prenatally through 42 months of age, allowing the opportunity for at least two years of services before kindergarten.
- The other requirement is that you live in the KCKPS school district.
Families enrolled in the program receive:
- Regular home visits from certified Parent Educators
- If your home is not available, we can find an alternative location or offer visits virtually.
- Developmental screenings and activities tailored to the child’s age
- Guidance on parenting, child development, and school readiness
- Connections to community resources and support services
- Opportunities to participate in group meetings and family activities
The goal of the program is to empower parents as their child’s first and most important teacher while promoting healthy development and early learning success.
