Description: American History 2 IBH is the second course of the IB history sequence and emphasizes a core of knowledge necessary to understand the events of the twentieth century. Three major topics are covered: causes, practices, and effects of war; rise of single-party states; and East/West relations after 1945. It involves the study of a variety of types of history, including political, economic, social and cultural, encouraging students to think historically and to develop historical skills. In this way, the course involves a challenging and demanding critical exploration of the past. Focusing this critical exploration on regional studies.
