Description: History 1 IBS is the first course in the IB history sequences and introduces students to the Diploma Programme's comparative multi-perspective approach to the past. The curriculum examines a range of historical types-political, economic, social, and cultural-though both global themes and focused regional case studies, with strong emphasis on modern world history (1000+). At the Standard Level, students study core IB material, including one prescribed source-based subject and one IB Global theme. Throughout the course, students develop a strong foundation in historical knowledge and skills by engaging with the 6 IB historical concepts such as change, causation, and significance, preparing them for the rigorous and demanding study of history in subsequent IB courses.
