Dual Language Program
What is the Dual Language Program?
The KCKPS Dual Language Program offers students the opportunity to become bi-literate in Spanish and English by learning language through the content.
Enrollment
The Kansas City Kansas Public School District will begin enrollment of students entering kindergarten in the 2024-2025 school year on January 22nd, 2024. Students in the attendance zones of Frances Willard and New Stanley will be given the option to enroll in the dual language program once registration is submitted to the school.
For students outside the boundary areas of Frances Willard and New Stanley, your first step is still to register your child for kindergarten on the district website. In early March 2024, a dual language application will open for students not zoned to Frances Willard or New Stanley. Once the application is submitted, students will enter a lottery for a limited number of seats at each school site.
UPDATE 4/15/2024: Seats for students outside the boundary areas of Frances Willard are now full. Families who received a seat in the lottery will be notified by the end of the week. Seats are still open for New Stanley for families who would like to provide their own transportation and live outside the boundary area.
