KCKPS Police Department Hosts 3rd Annual Trunk or Treat Event

The KCKPS Police Department celebrated its 3rd Annual Trunk or Treat event, bringing students, families, volunteers, and community partners together for an evening focused on connection, engagement, and community pride.
The fun-filled event was held Monday, October 26, in the parking lot of F.L. Schlagle High School.
It continues to grow each year, exceeding expectations and demonstrating the importance of creating positive opportunities for law enforcement and the community to connect.
For the Police Department, Trunk or Treat is about more than candy, costumes, and Halloween festivities.
It is an opportunity for officers to build meaningful relationships with students and their families while showing the community the people behind the badge.
“Events such as this provide valuable opportunities to create lasting memories for our children, foster trust, and demonstrate that the well-being of our community is a shared priority,” said KCKPS Interim Police Chief Gary Washington.
This year's event was even more successful than anticipated, reflecting the continued growth of the event and the strong support of the community.
For the KCKPS Police Department, serving the community means more than wearing a badge.
It means showing up, building trust, and making a lasting impact, one connection at a time.
