Additional Registration Information

To register for Kindergarten, a student must be:

  • Five years old by August 31.
  • Live within the school districts boundaries.

The student will go to the elementary school of residence and registration can be completed at any District 500 school.

We are currently taking applications for the 2025-2026 school year. Please call 913-627-5257 to make your appointment online. Visit the Early Childhood page for more information.

Open Enrollment is a state-level policy that will allow students to transfer to a school of their choice rather than attending a school based on where they live. Visit the Open Enrollment page for more information.

Apply for a Transfer Permit. Permit applications will close on June 30th. Parent/guardians will receive notice of their permit status shortly after that.

Infinite Campus

Infinite Campus is the district's student information system. Parents and guardians can log into their Parent Portal to register their students for school, update contact information, and see schedules, assignments, grades, and attendance.

If you forgot your login information, please try resetting your password. If that does not work, contact your child's school, or stop by The Welcome Center at the KCKPS Central Office (2010 N. 59th St.), open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
