May Students of the Month Honored

Kaylee Jones

Nominated by: Teacher Amelia Carttar
Now finishing her second year of preschool, Kaylee has set the example every day for engaging kindly, calmly, and creatively in our learning environment and showing what positive participation in learning looks like for all of her peers.
As a role model to her young friends, she has shown how to be a helpful and caring problem solver as obstacles come their way. She is imaginative, enthusiastic, empathetic, and centered as she engages in play and artistic expression. She has become a natural leader in her interactions with peers and leads with a compassionate example in all that she does. She shows tremendous respect for everyone through patient listening, collaboration, advocacy, and involvement. As a persistent, inquisitive, hard-working, flexible, and attentive learner, she always makes fantastic connections within her knowledge and thinks of new ways to approach an idea.
She will undoubtedly continue to experience immense success in her academic years and beyond! Kaylee truly has shone each day in our classroom, and we are so grateful for her brilliant, warm-hearted light.
King Peterson

Nominated by: Principal Wiley
King Peterson has shown incredible growth and perseverance since joining Lindbergh Elementary. When he first arrived, he faced challenges and struggled to find success at his previous school. However, with the strong partnership between his family and our staff, King has truly exceeded expectations. Over the past few months, he has demonstrated remarkable behavior improvement, maturity, leadership, and a positive attitude every day. We are so proud of his progress and the example he is setting for others. King’s hard work and determination make him a deserving choice for Student of the Month!
Elmer Estrada

Nominated by: Teacher, Trisha Sueppel
I am honored to recommend Elmer Estrada for District Student of the Month. Elmer is kind, considerate, and has one of the most positive attitudes I have ever had the pleasure to experience. He comes to school daily with a bright smile, a ready mind, and a caring heart. Elmer works hard and stays engaged in his learning, and he also takes the time to check in on others, showing empathy well beyond his years.
There are many reasons I love having Elmer in my class, but his joyful spirit and wonderful sense of humor are things I look forward to every single day. He brings light and laughter into our classroom and helps make it a warm and welcoming space for everyone.
Academically, Elmer shows a strong love for learning. Whether solving math problems, reading a new book, or working on a science project, he always tries his best and never gives up. He asks thoughtful questions and enjoys learning new things.
Elmer truly embodies the qualities we hope to see in all our students. Because of his strong work ethic, great behavior, and kind heart, I believe Elmer deserves the honor of being named District Student of the Month.
Brooklyn White

Nominated by: Theater teacher Gary Bradley-Lopez
Brooklyn White is one of those students who truly represents the best of Eisenhower Middle School. She is kind and respectful to both adults and her peers. Her smile is contagious, and because of it, she can make friends, including unlikely ones, and be part of a community where everyone respects her.
I could have nominated Brooklyn for many categories because she is an academic all-star, never misses a day of school, is an improving student-athlete, and is a strong Eagle Scholar. In my first year at EMS, I rebooted the debate team, and Brooklyn was one of my original four debaters. She eventually went on to become a team captain. Although she did not win any tournaments during her first year, she advanced to the semifinals at the City Championships — an incredible accomplishment.
While I firmly believed she should have won and felt disappointed she was among the few debaters without a first-year victory, Brooklyn never let that discourage her. She continued to lead and participate in debates with determination. This season, she won four different medals across three tournaments in policy debate, showing tremendous growth in her debate skills and becoming a well-rounded scholar, debater, and student-athlete.
Brooklyn didn’t quit. Instead, she used last year's challenges as motivation for this year's successes. Her consistency and resilience have allowed her to flourish in our program and become an outstanding student leader at EMS.
Asia Jackson

Nominated by: Teacher, Brianna Fant-Wright
It is with great pride and admiration that I recommend Asia Jackson for Student of the Month. Asia embodies resilience, determination, and perseverance—qualities that have set her apart as a true role model for her peers and community. Despite facing the challenges of becoming a young mother, Asia refused to be defined by circumstance or become a statistic. Instead, she made the courageous decision to return to school, driven by her desire to show herself and her child that anything is possible with hard work, dedication, and belief in oneself.
Throughout her journey, Asia has demonstrated remarkable strength, maintaining her academic focus while balancing the demands of motherhood. Her commitment has paid off: she is now on the brink of graduating, proving that no obstacle is too great when met with determination and heart.
Asia's story is one of hope, resilience, and inspiration. She is a shining example that even when life throws unexpected challenges, success is still within reach for those who refuse to give up. For these reasons and many more, Asia Jackson is an outstanding choice for Student of the Month.
